The Artist

KANE VANCHAOS

A local to the Clarence valley of 31years and a bit of a recluse. Kane is no stranger to the arts, having marked success as a musician and tattooist in the traditional stick and poke style. His life experiences imbue his art with his signature “Vanchaos” charm.

Post pandemic and unable to take to the stage, Kane is now working from his home studio on the banks of the mighty Clarence river, in the cane fields miles from anyone or anything.

Kane draws inspiration from absence, solidarity, and of the simple natural life around him.

Kane’s works are earthy, mysterious, authentic and wonderfully chaotic. Just a man with his dogs and a boat

The Artwork

Kane’s canvassed works, although fine art, have a underlying sense of volatility and history that is almost menacing and quite beautiful. His use of negative space and layering, adds depth in a most unexpected way.

The textures vary from piece to piece each, with their own message.

Kane’s use of canvass in a series, pushes the ideals on how a piece is assembled. This results in a unique shape and style when hung, and can be experienced from up close and afar.

The Sculptured Works

Kane has a series of canvasses on forbidden symbology and the occult, which is a theme that he extends through to his sculptured works and his most recent obsession, “World Rings”.

Natures treasures set in resin with 100 year old hard wood, that were carefully selected and brought to life the artist.

The Materials

We at KVC Creations, use natural and locally sourced materials in all our creations.

Each specimen 'Natures Treasures', is carefully selected over multiple days, with the timing of collection, day or night and the phases of the moon, being important to each piece,

It is also a family affair, so meet our snake babies...

Cuddles, who is a albino Darwin carpet python (Morelia Spilota Variegata).

Jonny Lennon, who is a centrailian carpet python (Morelia Bredli).

Medusa, who is a Eastern small blotched python (Liasis Maculosus), but she is very shy, so we don’t have a photo of her.

The Creation

BRINGING IT ALL TO LIFE

All KVC Creations' pieces are hand crafted, one of a kind items and help support local producers.

We are often asked...

Where can I buy your bases for your rings ?...

Where can I buy your moulds?...

The Answer

You can’t...We pour our slabs, each time, and we don’t use moulds.

Each piece is individually carved from 100yr old hard wood, from the fields abandoned long ago, and carefully selected natures treasures, which are then set in a giant resin block.

Each pour takes a few days to set and looks like a tree trunk, when it’s ready for the next stage.

Kane, in the traditional manner, bring all the pieces to life by individually carving them. He then wet and dry sands the piece, with finishing off with polish.

Each piece is one of a kind and cannot be replicated.

As in nature, it’s just beautiful chaos

The Wrapping

ADDING MEANGING AND PROTECTION

We use plant based locally sourced cord, with Kane long admiring Taonga and latching techniques of the NZ Maori culture.

Each different wrap pattern, means different things, with adding meaning and protection to the piece they accompany.

The Wire

Copper or jewellery standard steel wire is used for this style of wrap.

We will generally create a loop at the top, so you can use cord or a jewellery standard chain to hang your beautiful piece.

The Net

Hand woven, with waxed thread or bamboo and hemp chord.

They fit ANY size stone, ring or pendant and has the added advantage of being able to swap out pieces. This wrap is the multi wear of wrapping.
